Nursing CEU’s Update
We are pleased to announce that ICEA has been approved by Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC) of Ohio to offer 16.0 Nursing Credits to accompany both our Professional Childbirth Educator Workshops AND Doula and Labor Support Training Workshops. In order to attach nursing CEUs to your workshops, there are certain criteria that must be met including:
- ICEA must have an electronic copy of your Resume/CV on file here at the main office. If you wish or choose to offer 16.0 Nursing CEUs with your workshops, we will need your updated Resume/CV.
- Your certificates of completion that you give your workshop participants MUST have the following statement:
This offering has been approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing through their OBN Approver at UVMC OBN-005-92
Sample certificates (childbirth educator / doula) are posted below, however, IAT's may develop their own certificates as long as the above statement is included.
- At the conclusion of any workshop where CEU's are awarded, a copy of the sign in sheets (childbirth educator / doula) and all the evaluations (childbirth educator / doula), or, a summation, must be sent to the ICEA office which is then forwarded to Upper Valley Medical Center for each presentation.
- Each attendee must attend the entire 16 hours of the workshop in order to receive credit. Partial Nursing CEU’s will not be awarded.
- The above criteria are strictly for those who are going to offer Nursing CEUs with their workshops. Remember, regardless of the decision to offer Nursing CEUs, ALL IAT's are REQUIRED to turn in a workshop attendance list to the ICEA main office IN ADDITION to ICEA workshop evaluations (childbirth educator / doula) following completion.
