Blogging is the most "high tech" that I get. That is, until today! Donyale gave an awesome breakout session on Power Point and how to use it in birth classes. I was so intimidated going into it as computers are not my forte`, but she really motivated me to take on this new approach. Our students are so comfortable with this form of learning system, shouldn't we be? She showed me that we can still keep the class engaged and interactive and that the slides don't replace instructors but assist us.

Websites, Brochures, Business Cards…Oh My!
Emily was able to make even the least technically inclined, (like myself) feel like a website is attainable. We learned that 73.6% of Americans use the internet…how can we not take advantage of that?!? As a web designer, (10yrs) she shared with us secrets to getting more hits on search engines and ways to simplify our sites. Emily warned us of some common mistakes and how to avoid them like not advertizing for other companies such as your host site. I was not shocked to hear that consumers are more likely to make impulse buys if they are presented with a payment option on the website like PayPal. This was yet another class that is going to change how many are doing business. I think we will all be reaching more mothers through the web one we get home.
