Relationship or Content? Which Is More Important in Perinatal Education?

Where should perinatal educators be putting emphasis within their group encounters? For a novice educator, content is of the first order; however, as the educator gains knowledge and expertise, a shift may occur: family systems theory is integrated into the educational program so that greater emphasis is put on the couple's relationship. The educator adapts the educational program to better respond to the changes that the couple is dealing with within their relationship as they are experiencing the transition
